 Mit der Hauptprotagonistin - Cath - hat Rowell ein klischeehaftes Fangirl erschaffen, mit dem sich jeder Booklover identifizieren kann. Sie ist Besessen von einer Harry-Potter-ähnlichen Geschichte und schreibt darüber auch Fanfiction. So schafft es Rowel, dass sich gerade die "Potterheads" in Cath hineinversetzten können.
Der Schreibstil ist leicht verständlich und fließend zu lesen, obwohl es sich um ein englisches Buch handelt.

Eine klare Leseempfehlung für jeden in dem ein kleines Fangirl-Herz schlägt, und diejenigen die Coming-Of-Age-Novels mögen.
